Kauaʻi Chocolate & Coffee Festival 2026
Hosted by Kauaʻi Chocolate & Coffee Festival
The Kauaʻi Chocolate & Coffee Festival was founded by Amy Hammond of Special Events Hawaii and Joanna Carolan of Banana Patch Studio, originally to support economic development in Hanapepe and celebrate Hawaiʻi-grown cacao and coffee. The event was held under tents at Hanapepe Park for its first several years before relocating to Kilohana Plantation in Līhuʻe in 2023. Now in its 11th year, it is presented in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Chocolate & Cacao Association, with proceeds benefiting the Kala Foundation; the 2026 edition partners with Mālama Kauaʻi, a local food-resilience organization.
The day-long celebration fills Kilohana Plantation with exhibitor booths from local farmers, chocolatiers, roasters, baristas, and artisans showcasing Hawaiʻi-grown products, alongside live entertainment, demonstrations and workshops, a silent auction, food trucks, and local crafters. Tasting Passport Tickets are sold in advance for sampling access; general admission is free. The festival received the 2019 Hawaiʻi Hospitality and Lodging Association award for Best Tourism Event in the Heritage & Culture Division.

About food festivals
Hawaii's food festivals celebrate a signature crop or local specialty — 100% Kona coffee, the sweet Kula onion, summer lychee, or the islands' love of SPAM. Expect farmers and producers, chef demonstrations, tastings, and artisan markets.
Many are tied to a harvest season and double as community fundraisers. Some are single-day street festivals; others, like the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, run for a week or more across multiple venues.
- Come hungry and bring cash for tastings and vendor booths.
- Harvest dates shift year to year — confirm the current date before you go.
