What to expect
The Maui County Fair was first held in 1916, predating Hawaiian statehood, with brief hiatuses during 1917–1918 and World War II. After six years without a fair due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the dissolution of the Maui Fair Alliance, the event returned in 2025 under Festivals of Aloha director Daryl Fujiwara and County of Maui support. The fair has been based at the War Memorial Special Events Complex since 1989.
The four-day fair fills the grounds with over 40 nonprofit food booths, E.K. Fernandez carnival rides, main-stage entertainment with Grammy Award-winning headliners, hula hālau performances, and an opening parade. Contests span categories including student art, orchid displays, fiber arts, livestock, and e-sports. The 2025 return attracted more than 116,000 attendees across its four days.
