Kawaii Kon 2027
Hosted by Kawaii Kon
Kawaii Kon is an annual anime and Japanese pop-culture convention founded in 2005 by Gamers Evolution Expo, LLC (Stan Dahlin, Marlon Stodghill, and Scott Richardson). It launched at the Ala Moana Hotel with roughly 2,000 attendees and relocated to the Hawaii Convention Center in 2007 as it outgrew the hotel. The convention now draws more than 20,000 attendees across its three-day run each year.
The event fills the Hawaii Convention Center with a dealers room, an artist alley featuring independent creators, panels, cosplay competitions, voice actor guests, live concerts, esports, and tabletop gaming. A Cosplay Cafe staffed by costumed volunteers serves drinks and snacks on-site.

About cultural festivals
Hawaii's cultural festivals gather food, performing arts, craft, and community across a weekend or longer. Many trace to the islands' Japanese, Okinawan, and broader Asia-Pacific communities and feature taiko, hula, bon dance, and street-food booths.
Some are free block parties and some are ticketed convention-center markets. Come for the performances and stay for the food booths, craft vendors, and local-product marketplaces.
- Check admission before you go — marketplace and convention-center events may charge entry.
- Parking fills early — rideshare or transit is usually easier.
- Schedules and venues can shift year to year; confirm before you go.
